Some people like to propose in public, in a park or in a restaurant. They think it is romantic to do it in public. People have to propose in a private place because it is something for two people. Some people propose in front of a big audience the pressure is high, saying no is not an option. I think that people must propose each other at home with a great meal and some candles. If you do not want to marry the guy you can say no and finish your meal. So it is not very smart to propose in public!

I agree, it would be better if someone proposes in private. But, at the last edition of the International Film Festival in Rotterdam a volunteer proposed to his girlfriend in public. Seven years ago, they met at the Festival. Luckily she said 'yes'. I have to admit, it was touching!
